Mauro Peres - Director

Mauro Peres leads IDC’s research services and thought leadership for IT, telecom, and vertical market services in Brazil. In this position, he is IDC Brasil’s chief spokesperson for technology and market issues at major conferences and forums in Brazil and across Latin America. Mr. Peres is a member of IDC’s Globalization and IT Professional Strategies board which is comprised of IDC leading analysts across the globe. As a member of this board he has represented Brazil and Latin America in global initiatives for IDC including software piracy, open sourcing, and off shoring. Mauro is frequently quoted in newspapers including Valor Economico, Gazeta Marcantil and Folha de Sao Paulo as well as Info Corporate, Computerworld, and Information Week magazines. Prior to joining IDC, Mauro was the General Manager of TurismoNet.com, a tourism portal of Universal Online (UOL). Previous to that he was an account manager at Outsource Informática, a Brazilian direct marketing company. He also worked as a consultant at Arthur Andersen S.C. Brazil and as Product Manager at C&A Modas in Brazil. Mauro received his M.B.A. from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Wellesley, MA, and his B.A. in Finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil. Mauro is fluent in English and Spanish as well as being a native Portuguese speaker.
